2013 Preparations under way!

Big news from the Flying Pig Racing pits this year! We are fielding two cars this season.  Yep, the Central Coast Autohaus shop is now home to a pair of hot rods that will be competing in both the Summit and ANRA series. Autohaus owner Dan "the twin" is going to be wheeling the newly prepped '68 Camaro,   sporting the awesome blue paint laid down by body man extraordinaire, Barry "the other twin".  I will continue to row the gears in the '67 Mustang, in the same old red and white paint scheme.  Well, it's not all "old".  Barry squirted a little red and white paint this off season too, since we needed to cover the black streaks left by the track when we launched the hood last year!...but I digress.

Barry and Dan spent the off season sticking an 8 point cage in the Camaro, along with a bunch of finishing touches under the hood, a bitchin interior, fresh meats out back and some big 28" hoops up front.  Dan is gonna have to figure out how deep to stage with those things up front!  That car is set for some serious ETs, but Dan is going to slow it down and get some seat time in the sportsman class before putting the hammer down and showing us what he really has!

So as we are winding down the off season, next weekend is reserved for wash 'n' wax, new decals and hopefully a "team meeting". That's code for a relaxing evening of burnt meat, cold beverages, and bench racin'!  Dave the wrench Lee will be scooting down from the bay to put his spin on the buffer and re-decal the pig, while Dan and Barry will take a last look at the bad blue camaro and make sure she's ready for her coming out party.

March 17th will be a turn and burn test session for Flying Pig Racing, where we will sort out the final details on both cars.  March 23-24 will be the first Summit races at Famoso Raceway.  We are so close I can smell the race gas and taste the rubber.

SLO Racer- Out.
